Missing my reading habit+my terrible messy bookshelves

It's been like.... 4 years I haven't read books like I always do during my childhood, and my school years. I guess IT (Multimedia) course really focus more on computer/laptop than spending times on reading physical books.

Now, I'm trying to regain back my reading habit. Reading them makes me fall into the world of imagination and knowledge. I still have old books that I have/haven't started yet/halfway/finished read on my 20-year-old small bookshelf.

First top level: mostly motivation books, language books, and one history story and etc

Second level (middle): Mostly comics; whether locals or international ones (translated into Malay language), and yep, under Gempakstarz publication. :3

Lower one: Mostly fiction books and a few manga and etc. I like all kinds of genre (depends)~

Well, everything on this bookshelf looks random and messy, and old. :3
Not to mention sooner or later I'll buy a new one at Ikea~ I'll buy a bookshelf that doesn't take space much since my work-desk wall is just in front of my left side. That includes colour too since soft or light colour creates spacious atmosphere in room even though the product you bought is large.

Little by little I bought books monthly; especially collecting artbooks. Artbook is a collection of drawings made by particular artists. Of course it is normal for an artist like me buying books with more pictures and less texts to and view them for inspiration and references, and also as a fan/support favourite artists/appreciate the values of artworks.
With that, I need more bookshelves hmmm...

Also, with all these, I think it's time for me to do some "sharing books" post or "book reviews" or "my favourite books" post thingy in the near future. :3
It'll be very interesting and in the same time will keep me motivated and regain back my reading habit up! Hopefully get to update about books weekly or so~

Until then next time~

Warao, off~ ^u^

LISTS

I think I used to make New Year resolution list every year; and of course, including this early 2016, but I sometimes stopped unproductively. _(:3_)L I feel bad about myself and in the same time tries my best to motivate myself to work and live life on the flow.

By doing this lists, I hope this can bring benefits and bright ideas to myself, and yours too. (since we spent with internet much these days huehuehue.)

These are the lists of a life of an undergraduate, unemployed person and an artist. (U_U)

Everyday to-do list

  1. Chores
  2. Cooking for my siblings (I'm the firstborn)
  3. Playing with Flint the cat, if he's not asleep (he needs attention)
  4. Of course, pray PRAY 5 times a day, and get to pray Dhuha/tahajjud at least once a week.
  5. Standing and walking at least 30 minutes. We can't sit far too long in front of laptop/Tv. Sitting too long can cause early death, according to researches; and my little sister's friend passed away from drawing/study while sitting too long at the age of 25, even had eaten healthy meals and exercise regularly...
  6. Blogging at least 1 post a week.

To-Do List BEFORE entering degree this 20 August 2016.

  1. Draw and complete one full illustration in duration of two to five days. (depending on the drawing& colouring styles and my schedule)
  2. If customers commissioning me, draw and complete them in duration of a week to a month (depending on my schedule)
  3. Draw and complete another 4 drawings for Gokutojihen fanart artbook.
  4. Two art contests:

  • Visual Art Pitch Competition from Shah Alam Gallery - Deadline: 19th August 2016
  • Malaysian Comickers Challenge - Deadline: 5th September 2016

List of everyday/weekly/monthly goals:

  1. I am going to wake up early at least 6.30am every morning.
  2. I am going to complete at least 1st chapter of my solo webcomic "Veil Gravenoble" before August; each of everyday I do it in around 15-30 minutes. (still beginner)
  3. I am going to finish fanart artbook of 16 pages Gokutojihen before August
  4. I want to open semi-realism style commission; after 10th and last art lesson (either 25th June or 2nd July) and after done practice three art trade pieces in said style.
  5. I am going to have my first art booth in Comic Fiesta convention this December, for starters, offering 16 pages of Gokutojihen fanbook, 8 portrait characters from Gokutojihen, 5 original art prints, and live commission
  6. I am going to drive car half-fearlessly yet utmost cautiously. (I got official car licence last year, but I'm a scaredy cat, I admit... Not to mention my country Malaysia is the most top rate vehicle accidents in the world for almost every year in my opinion hmm...)

Maybe/SOMEDAY list:

  1. I can afford myself and bring one family to go performing Hajj at Mecca together.
  2. I can work as full-time art developer/concept artist/illustrator in any creative industries and/or part-time webcomic artist in timely manner whether from home or working on studios. (unless my house has a studio hoho)
  3. I can buy my own car with my own money (no loans. AVOID LOANS. Loans are bad.)

MY FAVOURITE SONGS AND MUSIC

MY FAVOURITE SONGS AND MUSIC
(update from time to time)

Some of these music have shaping my taste for years; from one genre type of music to multiple genre of music (ex: combination of classic+electronic+rock+orchestral), whether for movie score or video game score or animation series score; or from circle who did remixes. And, I think it's good to show some love to them and also share with you peeps here~

The list is not particular in order, though. I love all of them! :D
So, here it goes~

  • HIROYUKI SAWANO
Hiroyuki Sawano

Edited images

Hiroyuki Sawano, a Japanese mastermind composer behind Guilty Crown, Attack on Titan, Aldnoah Zero, Owari no Seraph, Kill la Kill, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and many more ost!

The first time I discovered his epic music was watching Attack on Titan anime. Hiroyuki Sawano's style in composing really gives people goosebumps, having adventure, and imagining ourselves we're in some sort of war or going on a mission or having an epic battle with enemies. (*o*) For short, kinda like Japanese Hans Zimmer version whoa, with addition of electronic-ish/rock/jazz-ish/traditional-ish flavour--- _(>u<_)L

He's not alone tho; Mika Kobayashi, mica, mpi, and many more work with him too; especially when it comes to vocal songs~

I'll just put one of the songs from series each. :3 Enjoy the masterpiece~

-to be update-

First post, welcome~

HELLO WORLD~ (Selamat berkenalan, dunia)
-first post-
look at my potato face

Assalamualaikum and hello peeps~ My first blog post here~ (o7o)/
Now, I'm going to introduce myself. (because saying "hi" is nice, kan?). :)

My name is Siti Sarah binti Abdul Rahman; a Malaysian, under online alias "Warao" or "SarahWarao" in art community; and I just knew I had this Blogger account since 2008. _(:3_)L What a very long time- and the post was empty.
So, today, I'll try my best to update often or weekly or bi-weekly or monthly. _(:3_)L

I have two blogs; one is for my art/sketches gallery, the other one is just for my relaxing writing about daily lives/list/stories/etc here.

Okay back to my introduction.

Basically, I'm just an undergraduate student; graduated last year from UniSZA, took Diploma in IT (Multimedia). Since that time, until now, I'm an unemployed. Instead, I've been working on:

  • art commissions (macam tempah lukisan) for customers, which I've done that work for 3 years until now.
  • Completing "Gokutojihen" fanbook (16 pages, 4 left to draw) before this August 2016.
  • Enter variety of art competitions (belum cuba, belum tahu weehuu)
  • Slowly developing my solo webcomic, "Veil Gravenoble". (targeting 1st chapter to finish before August 2016 too)
  • Learning how to become a proper lady at home in terms of cooking and cleaning lolzz _(:3_)L
  • Attending part-time course in digital art character design every Saturday at Claz'room (I may be end the final lesson around Jun or July 2016)

A few old sketches I made.

Well, reading all these list, you can consider me a......an artist hobbyist, hm? (o3o) Or anything you wanted to describe me lolol. And of course, anime & manga and arts and any related are part of my life.

Another old screenshots of my work in progress (WIP) drawings. :3

Of course not just those only; I also love playing video games. I love fantasy-adventure-action and sometimes sci-fi robot thingy games; like The Legend of Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Xenoblade Chronicles X (my lil sis loves the first Xenoblade Chronicles) . And for the first time I played FPS multiplayer online genre game entitled "Overwatch" (my lil bro is kinda good in playing those FPS genre, so he taught me a bit).

Besides those, I read novels and fanfictions. x'D For novels, mostly Harry Potter series and any other books I have so far on my shelves (mostly fantasy genre).
Speaking about books, I love collecting artists' artbooks and "The Art of" artbooks. They are the source of inspirations to learn more about art development in creating a series/movies/animation/etc (besides internet).
Not just the professional ones like from Dreamworks or Disney or Blizzard Entertainment, I also look upon the comic artist/freelance artist/illustrator whether international or locals. Who are they? I think it takes two or three pages to list them all haha!

Influence/inspiration map

Okay it's almost 3 hours writing this? (o-0) I'm actually not very good in writing about myself. ^^;
Yet so far I hope you get the gist or little by little to know me when every post is submitted. (ouo)9

Have a nice day, peeps~

Warao, offline. (ovo)7
