Ayyy warm up animation I feel so rusty

this is just a warm up I did a few weeks ago. :3
Wow look at dat quality video bloggre 0:

Oh welp, for full view or clearer version, it's in my tumblr here

UniKL MIIT: Accidentally false alarm date on registration day lol

Note: I might writing this combining English and Malay language+shortforms because why not? _(:3_)L

Heyya peeps, what's up?

Okay first of all, you did good, Dato' Lee Chong Wei~! (Rio Olympic 2016, badminton)

Second of all, sorry for the lack of updates in blog. Been busy doing some drawings and personal fanbook projects and so on; plus slowly warming up my animation skill *sighs*. AND THAT NEW CARTOON SHOW VOLTRON LEGENDARY DEFENDERS WAS SUPER COOL I CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 2 THIS LATE 2016!

Third of all, alright let's get into this.

Yeah it's 20 August 2016 today as it was written in a UniKL MIIT offer letter. Dgn semangat+separuh demam+sore throat, turned out hari registration postponed ke 18 September orzzzz o)--(

I checked my call log, inbox message and emails if they ever informed me about the postpone date or not, but no. I guessed they just updated the date in the official website x'D but my bad I didn't check in the official website one.

Besides having a quick conversation about postponed date with a man in charge of taklimat IT thingy, we (me and my dad) also asked him to explain briefly about this upcoming 18 September activity, the course, the hostel, the house rent, the credit transfer, etc.

As some of you peeps know, I am taking Bachelor of Multimedia Technology (Hons) in Computer Animation. Sounds cool, isn't it? But I bet the syllabus/teachings at UniKL will be very far different from my previous uni back in diploma years, UniSZA. I took Diploma in Information Technology (Multimedia) and yeah pretty much basic we learnt there; or sometimes some of them I have to learn them on my own. Because, as you have seen some of my artworks, I'm more to illustrations; still images one rather than moving one. _(:3_)L Very first time encountering and involving in animation was in that diploma around semester 4 or 5 I forgot. And yeah, the very, very, very first time doing almost 7 minutes short story animation and I WAS PANIC CUAK I NEVER DONE ANIMATION BEFORE I THOUGHT I WANNA DO AN ILLUSTRATIVE E-BOOK lolol my supervisor told me to do animation in fyp project. But I'm glad everything went well. You guys wanna see my fyp animation project? xD

Oh goodness I feel shy now >//////////<

Below is my favourite part of all I did, although the running sound effect sounds.... off:

Yeah I know it's anime-ish style in your eyes right??? Tho in my opinion I didn't focus much on anime style "wholeheartedly". I unconsciously combined Disney/cartoon-ish/western style+anime style and thus created my own style that people might or may recognize.... But I think you don't see it in my animation cuz yeah,,,,, first time ever. (;_;)
yeah it's a LOT of practice. Practice makes perfect. *thumbs up* No worries, everyone has different perspective.

Orrrrrrr

Have you ever watched popular American cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender, Legend of Korra (American-Korean), and the newest one Voltron: Legendary Defenders (American-Korean)? (ouo)/

Oh yeahhhh speaking of mentioned "Korean", (BACK TO THE UNIKL THING LOL) my parents were shocked that Bachelor students of UniKL have like,,,, Foundation for Korean University or something like that?? I guess UniKL has strong affiliations with Korean universities, which is brilliant.
Ayyyy it's a golden opportunity tho~ but yeah first we have to face the MARA scholarship/loan thingy and so on... Also, MARA will choose top students to take them to Korean universities and continue studies in "Game Design".

When mentioning top students, I was like, well,,, masa diploma semput yang amat, apatah lagi degree nanti sobsss (qAq) (yeah I just checked grade scheme in UniKL. Whoa...)
But everything went well so far in diploma, walaupun ada ups and downs; and I got (I don't want to be proud of myself much but) 3.66 overall CGPA in diploma years (my pointer dropped on semester 6 cuz I can't focus between fyp animation and IT, but not much drop. Just a so-so). Well, Alhamdulillah I was very grateful. Eternally grateful. Plus I set my mind that it's a ticket to the next level, either into job world or next education phase. I don't think intelligence measures on pointer numbers. It was a survival living in uni life, both as a student and a human being tbh. Well, back to top students, I'm guessing they target 3.8 above or something. It's going to be difficult. (*-*) I must study hard,, in a smart way. I don't like study very hard like, very HARD. I just,,, need to chill, relax.... patience yields focus. (thanks space dad Shiro)

Wait what was I gonna write? Omg lol I forgot.... _(:'3_)L I was coughing so hard my throat feels sore and hurt while replying "Widowmaker" to my Indonesian friend's status in fb whom she asked "Who's your fave Overwatch character? This is just a survey." Yeah I like Widowmaker. (>u<) I played as her in beta version and at least it felt great once in a lifetime getting "Player of the Game: SarahWarao" lol (I can't afford to buy Overwatch game sobs).

Oh yeah about Foundation Korean University thing.
Tbh, if, like I mean, "IF", or "kalau" which, Inn shaa Allah ada rezeki get to Korea, I honestly didn't expected this. Actually, I planned to continue in Australia after degree, and I've been planned to live there for the rest of my life (this is before knowing about UniKL's strong affiliation with Korean universities). Then little by little, my family can migrate to Australia and live happily there together; although yeah I have to find work in related field to support my family (my dad is in 50s now). We picked Australia because, my dad is very familiar with Aussie country since he was once studied there for years, second we went holiday there last Christmas (2015) (tumpang rumah kawan ayah yg juga merupakan org Melayu) yeah as you know that many Malaysians migrate to Aussie yap.
I listed down a few animation or art or any creative companies from the well-known ones to the small ones, along with the countries they located and what position I can and able to work as; mostly I wrote; "visual development artist" if related to animation/game company while illustrations book company or etc related I wrote either "colorist" or "illustrator". The rest just my personal work being "artist" and "comic artist".
So far, I only know one Korean creative studio; Studio Mir, a production who did outstanding Korra and Voltron.

After hearing a brief about this UniKL Foundation in Korean University, I then put Studio Mir on top of my list. (tho I still need to do more research on creative industries in Korea whoaa.) (*-*)9

After all briefs and all that jazz, looks like I'm gonna wait again to open my new chapter until 18 September. While waiting for that date, I finally get to work on drawing and spend more time with family and home~

After leaving UniKL, my dad went to his meeting while me, my lil siblings and mom went to see BFG movie~~~ The movie was magically fantastic~ Good thing I got to drink hot teh tarik since air-conditioner in cinema is so cold and I wasn't feeling well much heheh. BFG reminded me of my late grandfather Tok Ki. QwQ

Well I guesssssssss that's all for now? My brain is mixing the experiences and words I don't know what to continue typing next hmmmmm. Welppp I better off to bed. It's 1.24am now. ~ Warao out!

My houses in Harry Potter Pottermore world~

I've been a Potterhead for years since I was a a little girl watching the first Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Until the last Harry Potter movie; The Deathly Hallows Part 2 back in 2011, the hypes on them were gradually in graves; thinking that the story ends there, and all left is the memories of experience in Harry Potter world. Well, it was pretty sad, and of course going back into real life stuff and have responsibilities to do.

Until this early 2016, Sorting House ceremony flooded my Facebook newsfeed from my friends! Of course, curiosity rose in me and for the first time in my life I heard about Pottermore, an official website made by JK Rowling herself and her teammates; where exclusive information and extra writings, exclusive illustrations, and many more regarding Harry Potter series and Wizarding World were put in there! And of course, including fun stuff like Sorting House ceremony and choosing very own wand via quizzes provided in Pottermore website~

The hype and Harry Potter adrenaline in me were back intensified~!

Screenshot one of sliding images in Home section.

I quickly registered myself in excitement. All new information and stuff I never heard of before are in there~ and they are very fascinating! I figured out my Hogwarts House Sorting ceremony and here it is:

To be honest, I never thought I got sorted into Ravenclaw, which is cool! :D *hashtag*ProudRavenclaw~

My wand is:

Laurel wood with dragon heartstring core, the length of 12 and a half, quiet bendy flexibility

And so, since I love drawing and create character and story, I drew Sarah Rookwood, a character I created at first for fun, and so my friends drew their unique characters based on their houses and traits. Two days later, they decided to establish two rp(roleplaying) groups called Pottermore Roleplay and Hogwarts OC Roleplay. Not to mention it was my first time roleplaying. I had fun and learn more stuff; having new friends mostly from Indonesia and Philippines, and a little from West and Europe~ In the same time, I get to improve my drawing and English language skills!

Aside from that, I cannot wait to watch "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them" movie this November 2016! And also a new book, a screenplay of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" this July 31st~

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them" image

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" book image

On June 28th, JK Rowling revealed a new Wizarding School in North America, Illvermorny! The backstory and the houses are consuming me.

At home page of Pottemore

I got sorted into:

I got Pukwudgie! A troll-like creature who has a heart of a gold.

Although the infos about them are still not much, yet this'll keep us Potterheads anticipated~

Thus, I'm a Ravenclaw/Pukwudgie~

My roleplay oc~

Just an oc of the same name, same person; Sarah Rookwood, in two roleplay groups just for fun~

I started rp this year, when the first time I knew Pottermore. I was sorted into Ravenclaw, and many of my friends who did the same decided to create rp group named "Pottermore Roleplay Group"; where we rp as our Pottermore characters for fun and stuff and many interesting events had happened as well as meeting new friends~ I've been a Potterhead for years but things died out after the final Harry Potter movie was over. Until the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie is on the way and HYPE IS BACK~

Pottermore roleplay (Harry Potter/Wizarding World universe)

Märchen is my second roleplay group. So kinda second time rp in rp world.
Märchen rp group focuses on fairytale but twisted. The word Märchen is
also used as a "world" connected between each of fairytale books in the Grand Library.
I chose The Lute Player: A Tale from Russia; yeah, a Russian fairytale about the Queen
disguised herself as a man; the Lute Player to save her husband from enemy's captive.
I was in between lazy create new character and familiarity in rp-ing as Sarah Rookwood.
Somehow, drawing this version of Sarah Rookwood is fun though.

Märchen roleplay (twisted fairytale universe)

Beach Party AU

Modern/Reincarnation AU

Roleplaying is also a stress reliever to talk and rp together with friends to me. :3 Although I'm getting busier and busier in real life, at least I do my best to reply them if they happen to rp with me~  Also, I learnt many things in rp; whether English language, drawing skills, comic skills, story-building, and many more~

Notes:
OC term means "original character".
AU means "alternate universe".
RP means "roleplay"
Märchen means "fairytale" in German.

Missing my reading habit+my terrible messy bookshelves

It's been like.... 4 years I haven't read books like I always do during my childhood, and my school years. I guess IT (Multimedia) course really focus more on computer/laptop than spending times on reading physical books.

Now, I'm trying to regain back my reading habit. Reading them makes me fall into the world of imagination and knowledge. I still have old books that I have/haven't started yet/halfway/finished read on my 20-year-old small bookshelf.

First top level: mostly motivation books, language books, and one history story and etc

Second level (middle): Mostly comics; whether locals or international ones (translated into Malay language), and yep, under Gempakstarz publication. :3

Lower one: Mostly fiction books and a few manga and etc. I like all kinds of genre (depends)~

Well, everything on this bookshelf looks random and messy, and old. :3
Not to mention sooner or later I'll buy a new one at Ikea~ I'll buy a bookshelf that doesn't take space much since my work-desk wall is just in front of my left side. That includes colour too since soft or light colour creates spacious atmosphere in room even though the product you bought is large.

Little by little I bought books monthly; especially collecting artbooks. Artbook is a collection of drawings made by particular artists. Of course it is normal for an artist like me buying books with more pictures and less texts to and view them for inspiration and references, and also as a fan/support favourite artists/appreciate the values of artworks.
With that, I need more bookshelves hmmm...

Also, with all these, I think it's time for me to do some "sharing books" post or "book reviews" or "my favourite books" post thingy in the near future. :3
It'll be very interesting and in the same time will keep me motivated and regain back my reading habit up! Hopefully get to update about books weekly or so~

Until then next time~

Warao, off~ ^u^

LISTS

I think I used to make New Year resolution list every year; and of course, including this early 2016, but I sometimes stopped unproductively. _(:3_)L I feel bad about myself and in the same time tries my best to motivate myself to work and live life on the flow.

By doing this lists, I hope this can bring benefits and bright ideas to myself, and yours too. (since we spent with internet much these days huehuehue.)

These are the lists of a life of an undergraduate, unemployed person and an artist. (U_U)

Everyday to-do list

  4. Of course, pray PRAY 5 times a day, and get to pray Dhuha/tahajjud at least once a week.
  5. Standing and walking at least 30 minutes. We can't sit far too long in front of laptop/Tv. Sitting too long can cause early death, according to researches; and my little sister's friend passed away from drawing/study while sitting too long at the age of 25, even had eaten healthy meals and exercise regularly...
  6. Blogging at least 1 post a week.

To-Do List BEFORE entering degree this 20 August 2016.

  1. Draw and complete one full illustration in duration of two to five days. (depending on the drawing& colouring styles and my schedule)
  2. If customers commissioning me, draw and complete them in duration of a week to a month (depending on my schedule)
  3. Draw and complete another 4 drawings for Gokutojihen fanart artbook.
  4. Two art contests:

List of everyday/weekly/monthly goals:

  1. I am going to wake up early at least 6.30am every morning.
  2. I am going to complete at least 1st chapter of my solo webcomic "Veil Gravenoble" before August; each of everyday I do it in around 15-30 minutes. (still beginner)
  3. I am going to finish fanart artbook of 16 pages Gokutojihen before August
  4. I want to open semi-realism style commission; after 10th and last art lesson (either 25th June or 2nd July) and after done practice three art trade pieces in said style.
  5. I am going to have my first art booth in Comic Fiesta convention this December, for starters, offering 16 pages of Gokutojihen fanbook, 8 portrait characters from Gokutojihen, 5 original art prints, and live commission
  6. I am going to drive car half-fearlessly yet utmost cautiously. (I got official car licence last year, but I'm a scaredy cat, I admit... Not to mention my country Malaysia is the most top rate vehicle accidents in the world for almost every year in my opinion hmm...)

Maybe/SOMEDAY list:

  1. I can afford myself and bring one family to go performing Hajj at Mecca together.
  2. I can work as full-time art developer/concept artist/illustrator in any creative industries and/or part-time webcomic artist in timely manner whether from home or working on studios. (unless my house has a studio hoho)
  3. I can buy my own car with my own money (no loans. AVOID LOANS. Loans are bad.)
(to be update from time to time)

MY FAVOURITE SONGS AND MUSIC

MY FAVOURITE SONGS AND MUSIC
(update from time to time)

Some of these music have shaping my taste for years; from one genre type of music to multiple genre of music (ex: combination of classic+electronic+rock+orchestral), whether for movie score or video game score or animation series score; or from circle who did remixes. And, I think it's good to show some love to them and also share with you peeps here~

The list is not particular in order, though. I love all of them! :D
So, here it goes~

  • HIROYUKI SAWANO
Hiroyuki Sawano

Edited images

Hiroyuki Sawano, a Japanese mastermind composer behind Guilty Crown, Attack on Titan, Aldnoah Zero, Owari no Seraph, Kill la Kill, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and many more ost!

The first time I discovered his epic music was watching Attack on Titan anime. Hiroyuki Sawano's style in composing really gives people goosebumps, having adventure, and imagining ourselves we're in some sort of war or going on a mission or having an epic battle with enemies. (*o*) For short, kinda like Japanese Hans Zimmer version whoa, with addition of electronic-ish/rock/jazz-ish/traditional-ish flavour--- _(>u<_)L

He's not alone tho; Mika Kobayashi, mica, mpi, and many more work with him too; especially when it comes to vocal songs~

I'll just put one of the songs from series each. :3 Enjoy the masterpiece~

-to be update-

First post, welcome~

HELLO WORLD~ (Selamat berkenalan, dunia)
-first post-
look at my potato face

Assalamualaikum and hello peeps~ My first blog post here~ (o7o)/
Now, I'm going to introduce myself. (because saying "hi" is nice, kan?). :)

My name is Siti Sarah binti Abdul Rahman; a Malaysian, under online alias "Warao" or "SarahWarao" in art community; and I just knew I had this Blogger account since 2008. _(:3_)L What a very long time- and the post was empty.
So, today, I'll try my best to update often or weekly or bi-weekly or monthly. _(:3_)L

I have two blogs; one is for my art/sketches gallery, the other one is just for my relaxing writing about daily lives/list/stories/etc here.

Okay back to my introduction.

Basically, I'm just an undergraduate student; graduated last year from UniSZA, took Diploma in IT (Multimedia). Since that time, until now, I'm an unemployed. Instead, I've been working on:

  • art commissions (macam tempah lukisan) for customers, which I've done that work for 3 years until now.
  • Completing "Gokutojihen" fanbook (16 pages, 4 left to draw) before this August 2016.
  • Enter variety of art competitions (belum cuba, belum tahu weehuu)
  • Slowly developing my solo webcomic, "Veil Gravenoble". (targeting 1st chapter to finish before August 2016 too)
  • Learning how to become a proper lady at home in terms of cooking and cleaning lolzz _(:3_)L
  • Attending part-time course in digital art character design every Saturday at Claz'room (I may be end the final lesson around Jun or July 2016)

A few old sketches I made.

Well, reading all these list, you can consider me a......an artist hobbyist, hm? (o3o) Or anything you wanted to describe me lolol. And of course, anime & manga and arts and any related are part of my life.

Another old screenshots of my work in progress (WIP) drawings. :3

Of course not just those only; I also love playing video games. I love fantasy-adventure-action and sometimes sci-fi robot thingy games; like The Legend of Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Xenoblade Chronicles X (my lil sis loves the first Xenoblade Chronicles) . And for the first time I played FPS multiplayer online genre game entitled "Overwatch" (my lil bro is kinda good in playing those FPS genre, so he taught me a bit).

Besides those, I read novels and fanfictions. x'D For novels, mostly Harry Potter series and any other books I have so far on my shelves (mostly fantasy genre).
Speaking about books, I love collecting artists' artbooks and "The Art of" artbooks. They are the source of inspirations to learn more about art development in creating a series/movies/animation/etc (besides internet).
Not just the professional ones like from Dreamworks or Disney or Blizzard Entertainment, I also look upon the comic artist/freelance artist/illustrator whether international or locals. Who are they? I think it takes two or three pages to list them all haha!

Influence/inspiration map

Okay it's almost 3 hours writing this? (o-0) I'm actually not very good in writing about myself. ^^;
Yet so far I hope you get the gist or little by little to know me when every post is submitted. (ouo)9

Have a nice day, peeps~

Warao, offline. (ovo)7
